Why it is worth it
- Carpe Diem Skorupki (our village) sits directly on the Masurian Cycling Loop.
- It is a good base for a short ride or a full day on the bike.
- You can choose a route to match your fitness, the weather and the time you have.
- Your host knows the cycling side of things practically and can help you choose a sensible direction.
Before you set off
- For a short ride, it is best to choose a simple stretch close to the house.
- For a longer ride, check the weather in advance and take enough water.
- If you do not have your own bike, use one of the rentals nearby (contacts below).
- For families and less experienced riders, choose a route without any pressure on pace or distance.
About the Masurian Cycling Loop
- The trail is close to 300 km long and links the main towns of Masuria (the Masurian Lake District): Mikołajki, Mrągowo, Ryn, Giżycko, Węgorzewo and Pisz.
- The route has varied surfaces and difficulty levels — it is worth matching the stretch to your fitness and the time you have.
- By the house there is a bike rack and a bike pump.
- After a ride you can use the garden hose to rinse the bike down.
- Rafał has his own, repeatedly tested route suggestions. Write to us if you would like a specific direction.
